Every Experience Inspires Us to Serve with Greater Purpose

Earlier this month, our Vice President attended the BWL Oceania Regional Convention 2026 Charity Gala Dinner on behalf of the Lions Club of Melbourne She Rises.

Although this was not a She Rises event, it was a meaningful opportunity to connect with like-minded organisations that share a passion for giving back to the community.

The evening was held in support of The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation, with the goal of raising funds to help children and families facing serious medical challenges.

One of the most touching moments of the night was watching a short film presented by the Foundation. It shared the story of children born with rare medical conditions, including babies who require intensive daily treatment from the moment they enter the world. Their courage, together with the strength of their families and medical teams, deeply moved everyone in the room.

As we enjoyed a beautiful evening together, it reminded us how fortunate we are—and how even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference to those facing life's greatest challenges.

While we did not organise this event, we left feeling inspired. Experiences like these strengthen our commitment to community service and remind us why we continue to serve with compassion, gratitude and purpose.

We are grateful for the opportunity to attend and would like to share a few highlights from this memorable evening.
