International Tree Planting Day

The Lions Club of Melbourne She Rises was proud to take part in International Tree Planting Day, hosted by Manningham Council. Together with Next Gen Lions Club, fellow Lions clubs, community organisations and local families, we joined hands to help create a greener and more sustainable future.

The day brought together 128 families and nearly 100 community volunteers, all working towards a shared purpose. As adults planted native trees, children eagerly joined in, learning that even small actions can make a lasting difference to our environment.

More than a tree planting event, it became a celebration of community. Families worked side by side, neighbours met for the first time, and children discovered the importance of caring for nature through hands-on experience.

Reflections from the Day

This experience reminded us that creating stronger communities begins with bringing people together around a shared purpose.

Watching parents and children plant trees side by side showed that environmental responsibility is more than protecting nature—it's about passing values from one generation to the next. Every seedling represented hope, every helping hand reflected kindness, and every smile reminded us that positive change grows through collective action.

At She Rises, we believe that community service is not only about meeting today's needs but also about investing in the future. By caring for our environment today, we are helping create healthier communities for generations to come.
